Cherish the Beauty of San Severino Marche
In Teatro Feronia, directly on the Piazza del Popolo, you will discover together the artful design of this historical theater, in which the famous theater curtain of the artist Filippo Bigioli is found. The curtain displays a classical temple of the goddess Feronia, from which the priestess Camurena Celerina is freeing a slave, while on the left side an animal sacrifice is brought. The arch is just as impressive. It is decorated with eight eight-sided panels, which depict the muses. They have been arranged concentrically to the elegant medallion in the middle with the imposing chandelier. The extraordinary paintings in the theater offer diverse templates for creative implementation.
A Scenic Area of Arts Inspires Drawing
Next to the historic theater, San Severino Marche offers further noteworthy cultural monuments, like the Chiesa di San Giuseppe, the Chiesa e Convento di San Domenico, the Santuario di San Severino Vescovo or the Basilika San Lorenzo in Doliolo. The Art of ?the are holds great value in this area. In the civic art gallery Pinacoteca “Tacchi Venturi,” extraordinary works of art are found, like the Polyptychon of Paolo Veneziano, Pinturicchio’s Madonna of Peace, Allegretto Nuzi’s Madonna dell'Umiltà as well as many further important testimonies of antique Italian art.
