Costume manufacture and costume plastics for international film and theater productions for:
- Babylon Berlin (Sky TV), The Cloud Atlas, The Grand Budapest Hotel
- Der fliegende Holländer (Passionstheater, Oberammergau)
- Manon Lescaut, (Festspielhaus Baden Baden/ New York MET)
- Xerxes (Komische Oper, Berlin)
- Das schlaue Füchslein (Komische Oper, Berlin)
- Moses und Aaron (Komische Oper, Berlin) and more.
The two textile artists Lisa Lauren and Benjamin Tyrell give insight into their weath of experiences and convey the essentials of costume making. The demand for costume pieces in theater and film has grown inthe past years.
The necessary costume design goes far beyond classical tailoring and demands sculptural and set design abilities. Besides individual costume body parts for staging, the two artists have constructed a complete realistic bear for the Salzburger Festspiele and a deer for Robert Wilson at the Theater of the Nations in Moscow.
The creation of a negative form from plasticine and its formation with thermoplatic material also belong to the course content, as well as surface design, which brings the object to life.
Next to design with heat-sensitive 3D colors, techniques will be presented with which surface structures can be dramatically changed with stamping techniques, lacquers and colors.
