Making 18th Century Corsets/Stays
This offer cannot be booked anymore.
Duration: June 22 – 26, 2020 10:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Teatro Feronia
After her studies as fashion designer at the Academia Italiana, Dunia Vecchini worked as a costume designer for the Toskana School of Ballett.
She soon began focusing on the production of historical costumes, especially corsets, and founded the company Elaine's Couture.
This has been her passion ever since, translating curves and shapes from the history of costumes into the present-day, thereby creating something new. And all this, thanks to and sometimes despite a wide range of aesthetic sensibilities.
Moreover, Dunia Vecchini is an experienced educator.
Choosing the right silhouette is the essential prerequisite for the production of quality costume pieces, which make an impact in modern theater as well as in front of the camera.
This master class begins with an introduction to the history of corsets and the materials used in their production. Participants will then create the pattern for an 18th century corset.
How to adapt and adjust to various body sizes will also be explained.
Every participant will have the opportunity during this master class to create his or her own corset. Dunia Vecchini will accompany you every step of the way.
